1. The First Photograph Ever Taken From the Clouds Era: 1907 & Earlier Publisher: Anonymous |
From the Aug 30, 1906 Des Moines Register & Leader: For the first time in the world's history, photographs of the earth were taken from an airship yesterday. At a height varying from 300 to 600 feet, the daring navigator of the air, Charles K. Hamilton, successfully took several photographs of the scenes about the state fairgrounds. While it is true that photographs have been taken from balloons and even from aeroplanes, never before have they been successfully taken from an airship. (Note: the airship was the Roy Knabenshue airship). |
