156. Champion Ears of Corn~Kratzer Carriage Ad Era: 1908-1915 Publisher: Anonymous |
This card shows the prizewinners in corn at the 1907 Fair. The card proclaimed proudly “Shown herewith are the Champion Ears of Corn of the World, having won the prize at the Iowa State Fair in the greatest corn competition on earth.” The yellow ear on the right was the property of George Steen of West Liberty, Iowa. The white ear on the left was the property of T. B. White of Oskaloosa, Iowa. There was no mention about the red ear in the middle. Along with judging of single ears, there was also judging for the best possible ten ears, white and yellow, in the central district, northern district, and the southern district. |
